I had finally achieved my dream of running my own full-service Real Estate company to be close to home and more available for my family. Suddenly, the great recession threatened to derail everything I had created. Then, I leaned on my preparedness and adaptability to come out stronger, better equipped than ever to serve my clients and community.
When the recession hit in 2007, it was the first ingredient in a perfect storm. Not long before, I had left behind my successful career in technology to start my own Real Estate company.
My family has been in Colorado Real Estate for decades, and I have lived here my whole life. Once, I decided Real Estate was the path for me, I knew I wanted to do things a little differently with a full-service company.
To do that, I had to learn everything from the beginning. Over the course of five years, I apprenticed, learned appraisal, mortgages, Real Estate, and built my company from the ground up.
Unfortunately, after initial success, the recession knocked me back as the company went through some internal issues at the same time. I ended up running all three branches myself – the appraisal, mortgage and RE brokerage. It was exhausting, and I practically lived in my home office during that time. Still, no matter how tough it was or how many late nights I fell asleep at my desk, I was grateful.
I left my career in technology because working close to home was my desired dream. I spent all my time traveling the country – some weeks I was on a different plane every day. When my second daughter was born, I decided I wanted a more sustainable career letting me support my family while being closer to home.
Even during those difficult years in 2008 and 2009, I knew it could have been worse. I could have been on an airplane! So, even when my head pounded and the work left in front of me felt like a mountain, I was thankful to have it. In the tech field, I had worked far more than a typical 40-hour schedule as well. Ever since I started working at eight years old on my dad’s rentals, work and I have been like old friends. I am a workhorse and do not mind throwing myself into something completely. However, Real Estate gave me the opportunity to do so down the hall from my daughters and still take breaks for soccer games and school events.
I know things could have gone very differently during those couple of years, but I worked hard to keep my companies and family afloat. Early on in my life, long before the market crash, I had learned how to be adaptable.
I have always been successful in what I have done because I take the time to learn a subject thoroughly and refine my skills before starting. I took the time to learn how to be a Real Estate agent, appraiser, and mortgage lender not only to benefit my clients, but to also help myself do the best job I could.
I have been a licensed REALTOR® since 2002. When I am not working, I enjoy hiking, skiing, playing tennis, doing CrossFit, and trying out new restaurants with my wife. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is building relationships for life with my clients.
Whether you’re buying or selling, I know how to help. Since I understand all facets of this industry, I mitigate problems as they come up, simplifying your Real Estate experience. Over the years, I have worked with every type of transaction and done nearly all of them myself as well as for family and friends. Real Estate is a tool you can use however you like, even to build wealth.
With my extensive experience, I can walk you through any process and offer you advice, since I would never counsel you through something I have not already done myself. I am a pricing specialist and expert negotiator. I listen to my clients and everyone else involved in the transaction so I can understand everybody’s goals and negotiate the best deal for you. Paired with my expertise in marketing, I am confident I can help you get the results you want. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to serve you as your lifelong REALTOR®.
Sincerely,
